Qatar Islamic Bank announced that it enables eligible customers to subscribe to Baladna rights issue as a receiving bank for the capital increase. The bank said in a statement that both individual and corporate customers holding subscription rights in their investor accounts at the close of trading on August 3 will be able to participate. Each right entitles the holder to one new share priced at QR1.01, with the subscription period running from August 4 until 1pm on August 17.

According to the QIB statement, individual customers are encouraged to use the mobile application for a seamless paperless experience that eliminates branch waiting times. Users log in to the app, navigate to the rights issue service under the more menu, review their eligibility and available entitlement, enter the desired number of shares, accept the terms and conditions and confirm the application. The same process allows submissions on behalf of minors under the customer’s legal guardianship when all eligibility and payment conditions are satisfied.

Corporate customers must submit applications at the QIB Corporate Branch along with authorised signatory details and supporting documents, the statement added. Those requiring assistance can visit one of the designated branches at Old Airport Road, Al Rayyan or QMall during standard working hours. The bank emphasised that investor accounts with EDAA must be complete, active and up to date with sufficient funds available before any application is submitted.

Baladna’s rights issue will see the company issue 535,996,240 new ordinary shares at QR1.01 each, increasing its capital from QR2,143,984,962 to QR2,679,981,202 for a 25 percent expansion, the company stated. The food producer said the capital raise will strengthen its balance sheet to support international expansion plans and long-term growth ambitions in the dairy and beverage sectors. Baladna had postponed the plan in March 2026 citing market volatility before shareholders approved resumption of the procedures in July, according to a Qatar News Agency report.

The rights trading period ended on August 3 in line with Qatar Stock Exchange procedures, setting the stage for the subscription phase, exchange guidelines show. Investors must review the official prospectus that details eligibility requirements, allocation arrangements, subscription conditions and associated risk factors prior to deciding. Applications and funds will be accepted only if successfully received before the deadline.

QIB, with total assets of QR221.1 billion as of its latest reported figures, remains the largest Islamic bank in Qatar and continues to support major corporate actions in the local market. The lender’s financing portfolio stands at QR138.5 billion while customer deposits total QR142.7 billion, demonstrating its capacity to facilitate such transactions. This participation aligns with QIB’s established role in previous Baladna share offerings and similar market events.
