QIIB said the new platform offers customers flexible options to redeem their accumulated points without waiting periods or complex procedures, aligning the experience with leading global e-commerce standards. The development reflects the bank’s continued push to modernise its services and elevate customer engagement in a competitive environment. QIIB’s total assets stood at QR60.6 billion as of mid-2025 with customer deposits at QR42.2 billion, according to the bank’s financial results.[[1]](https://www.qiib.com.qa/Press/Details/504) This scale positions the lender to leverage digital tools that add tangible value for its client base.
The marketplace allows users to browse selections, choose preferred items and complete transactions in a few steps entirely within QIIB’s digital channels. Such design eliminates traditional barriers associated with rewards programmes and provides greater convenience for both individual and family needs. Peer institutions have recorded strong uptake of comparable offerings, with one rival programme logging more than 661,000 redemption transactions in the first five months of 2026.
Abdullah Hamad al-Mesaifri, retail branches manager at QIIB, said, “We are pleased to launch QIIB Online Shop, a significant addition to the way we reward our customers and recognise their loyalty.” “This advanced digital solution goes beyond points’ redemption, giving customers seamless access to a wide range of products and digital rewards through a fully integrated experience within QIIB’s mobile and internet banking platforms.” Al-Mesaifri noted the platform’s focus on delivering flexibility and control to users.
“Our approach to product development at QIIB is driven by continuous innovation with the customer experience at its core,” al-Mesaifri added. “That is why we have designed QIIB Online Shop to offer an extensive range of lifestyle choices that cater to both individual and family preferences. With instant rewards redemption, customers have the flexibility and control to redeem their points whenever and however they choose, through a seamless and secure digital experience.” The manager stated that the launch forms part of the bank’s ongoing digital transformation strategy.
An LSEG assessment found that Islamic banking assets in Qatar reached QR586 billion by the end of 2024, constituting 29 per cent of total banking assets and expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 6.8 per cent since 2020.[[2]](https://www.lseg.com/content/dam/data-analytics/en_us/documents/reports/qatar-islamic-finance-report-2025.pdf) This expansion has prompted institutions across the sector to accelerate digital initiatives aimed at differentiation and customer retention. QIIB’s move fits within that pattern by enhancing its rewards ecosystem to address evolving client expectations.
Customers may begin utilising the service immediately by accessing the dedicated QIIB Online Shop section in the bank’s mobile application or internet portal. The platform supports redemptions across diverse categories drawn from leading local and international brands. QIIB indicated it will continue monitoring market dynamics to refine and expand such offerings in response to customer feedback.
