Dandy announced on Monday that it had successfully wrapped up the book-building process ahead of its initial public offering, with 19 institutional investors participating and pushing the offering into oversubscription territory. The Qatari dairy and food products firm set the final offer price at QR5 per share following the strong demand, a level that reflected the institutional assessment of its fundamentals and prospects. According to the company statement carried by Gulf Times, this mechanism promotes transparency by tying the price directly to investor evaluations of financial position, growth potential and market conditions.
The firm has secured a no-objection letter from the Qatar Financial Markets Authority concerning the IPO and listing on the Qatar Stock Exchange, marking progress toward its conversion into a public shareholding company. Dandy indicated that it is now focused on fulfilling the outstanding procedural steps before initiating the public subscription period. Publication of the subscription launch details will occur after receipt of final regulatory clearances, the announcement added.
Earlier reporting by Qatar News Agency in June outlined the structure for offering 40 percent of Dandy’s share capital, or roughly 41.2 million shares from its total of 103 million shares valued at QR103 million. The institutional portion accounted for 12.36 million shares through the book-building exercise while the public tranche consists of 28.84 million shares available to Qatari nationals and registered entities. The initial indicative price range stood at QR5 to QR5.20 per share excluding fees, with the final determination settling at the bottom of that band.
Mordor Intelligence figures show the Qatar dairy products market was valued at USD732.3 million in 2025 and is forecast to expand to USD975.83 million by 2030, advancing at a compound annual growth rate of 5.91 percent. Dandy, which has manufactured and distributed dairy items, beverages and ice cream for more than 45 years, is positioned to benefit from the projected expansion. Government efforts to boost local production and reduce import dependence have supported sector development amid a growing population that includes a large expatriate base.
Qatar Stock Exchange officials have highlighted a healthy pipeline of listings extending through 2026 as the market supports economic diversification goals. Dandy’s entry would introduce a long-established consumer goods producer to the main board. The oversubscribed institutional response suggests sustained appetite for Qatari IPOs among professional investors, building on patterns observed in recent offerings.
The book-building exercise involved detailed reviews by participants of the company’s financial statements and strategic outlook before bids were submitted. This process concluded with the price fix that paves the way for broader participation in the upcoming subscription phase. Dandy continues to work through the remaining approvals to bring the listing to fruition.
