Qatar Islamic Bank said in a statement that it received three awards at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026 including the title of Qatar’s Best Bank. The lender also took home the prizes for Qatar’s Best Digital Bank for Consumers and Qatar’s Best Bank for SMEs according to the announcement on its corporate site. The recognitions arrived shortly after Euromoney published its national winners overview for the year.

QIB reported net profit attributable to shareholders of QAR 2,225.3 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026, a 2.3 percent rise from the same period in 2025. Total assets reached QAR 234 billion, up 10.4 percent year on year, while the cost-to-income ratio stood at 16.4 percent, the strongest figure recorded in the Qatari banking sector. These results underpinned the Best Bank award which cited the lender’s resilient model and consistent performance across customer segments.

Euromoney’s assessment noted that QIB linked digital investment to stronger customer acquisition and daily usage during 2025. The bank broadened end-to-end onboarding processes that reduced friction for segments capable of developing into long-term relationships. Initiatives such as the Bedaya account for students, QIB Lite for domestic workers and QIB Junior for children expanded access and cut the time required to open accounts.

The bank also enhanced its position in everyday money movement by integrating more deeply with the central bank’s Fawran instant payments platform. This allowed retail-to-corporate transfers and raised overall utility for both consumers and enterprises. The improvements formed part of a broader push that Euromoney credited with widening QIB’s entry points into household financial relationships.

In the statement QIB Group CEO Bassel Gamal said, “We are pleased to be recognized by Euromoney as Qatar’s Best Bank, alongside receiving the awards for Qatar’s Best Digital Bank for Consumers and Qatar’s Best Bank for SMEs. These prestigious awards reflect the strength of QIB’s strategy, which is centered on delivering sustainable growth, shareholders return, and exceptional customer experiences. These achievements would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our team, the support of our Board of Directors, and the trust and confidence of our customers and shareholders.”

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence judge banks on financial performance, innovation, market presence and client service with submissions evaluated by journalists and analysts. The 2026 cycle featured regional events in Dubai, London and Singapore after winners were notified earlier in the year. QIB’s sweep of the three Qatar titles underscores its standing in the local Islamic banking market where digital offerings have grown in importance.
