The Federal Tax Authority announced that its awareness events drew nearly 34,000 participants during the first half of 2026. According to the authority, these sessions formed part of a broader strategy to diversify communication channels and reach all stakeholders involved in tax implementation. The FTA has emphasised expanding both virtual and in-person formats to address knowledge gaps in tax-related matters.

A similar WAM report from April 2026 placed participation at 28,000 individuals across 85 awareness activities in the first half of 2025. The authority’s figures show this year’s first-half turnout represents growth on that prior period. FTA data also indicated that virtual events made up the majority of activities while in-person workshops maintained steady engagement.

The authority reported high satisfaction rates with its events, reaching 94 percent in recent measurements published by the FTA. In an announcement on its initiatives, the FTA detailed specialised workshops including sessions on the EmaraTax digital platform, tax certificates and corporate tax updates. These targeted programmes attracted thousands of participants seeking practical guidance on compliance procedures.

Emirates News Agency figures from previous years show the FTA organised more than 260 awareness events between 2023 and the first half of 2024, drawing over 103,500 participants in total. The authority has stated that such campaigns support the second cycle of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme by simplifying procedures and enhancing service delivery. FTA officials noted the events help taxpayers navigate obligations under value-added tax, excise tax and corporate tax rules.

A separate FTA statement from late 2025 placed the number of corporate tax registrants above 680,000 entities while VAT registrants exceeded 520,000. The authority attributed part of this registration growth to its sustained awareness campaigns that clarify requirements and procedures. The FTA added that it continues to launch new programmes to introduce services and promote voluntary compliance among businesses and individuals.

The Federal Tax Authority has maintained its focus on direct engagement through customer councils and targeted workshops across all emirates. According to authority releases, these interactions allow for feedback collection that informs further improvements to tax services. The FTA indicated that its awareness activities remain central to fostering a culture of compliance and supporting the UAE’s financial sustainability objectives.
