The high-level Emirati economic delegation led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi comprised government officials, business leaders and representatives of companies from strategic sectors. The group held talks with senior officials and private sector figures in Argentina and other regional markets to expand cooperation in technology, renewable energy, logistics and trade. According to the Emirates News Agency, the engagements reflected a commitment to elevating bilateral relations in line with the UAE’s push to broaden its global economic network. The discussions also targeted sustainable growth through private sector involvement.

Al Zeyoudi met with Pablo Quirno Magrane, Argentina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, along with additional government and business representatives in Buenos Aires. The conversations explored deepening ties in agriculture, food security, energy, mining, science, technology and infrastructure. A dedicated business roundtable during the visit brought together investors from both sides to pinpoint opportunities for joint ventures and increased trade flows. WAM reported that these sessions helped lay groundwork for enhanced private sector dialogue.

Non-oil trade between the UAE and Argentina reached $767.5 million in 2025, marking a 42.6 percent increase from 2024, according to figures released by WAM. Al Zeyoudi stated that Argentina ranks among the UAE’s most significant trade and investment partners in Latin America. He said, “Our bilateral relations have witnessed remarkable growth in recent years, reflected in the expansion of trade volumes and the broadening of cooperation to encompass agriculture, food security, energy, mining, science, technology and infrastructure.”

The minister added that the visit highlighted a shared vision for mutual economic gains by combining Argentina’s strengths in agriculture, food industries and advanced technology with the UAE’s investment environment, logistics expertise and leadership in renewable energy and artificial intelligence. Al Zeyoudi said, “Our discussions with Argentina reflect a renewed and shared vision for economic growth and mutual benefit. By building on the strengths of both countries, we can open new horizons for trade and innovation that serve our economies.” He noted that the exchanges identified fresh investment prospects across key industries.

The ‘UAE Trade Days’ tour strengthens economic partnerships with five South American nations as part of the UAE’s Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements programme that launched in September 2021. This initiative has produced multiple deals across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas to advance sustainable trade and investment, a government overview indicated. The UAE has already exceeded its non-oil foreign trade target of $1 trillion, reaching the milestone six years ahead of schedule according to official data.

Comparable meetings occurred in additional locations during the tour, including discussions on boosting supply chains, investment in renewable projects and technology collaboration with counterparts from nations such as Chile and Panama. WAM accounts placed these engagements within the UAE’s wider strategy to diversify economic alliances and tap into emerging market potential. The delegation’s work focused on practical steps to elevate two-way commerce and foster long-term private sector ties across the visited countries.
