The agreement establishes effective communication channels for the business sector while strengthening economic, trade and investment relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Türkiye, the Emirates News Agency reported. It was signed by Mohammed Mosbbeh Al Nuaimi for the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Süleyman Sönmez, president of the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation. The pact also aims to promote collaboration across large businesses, startups and small and medium-sized enterprises. Yasser Abdullah Al Ahmad, head of government and corporate communications at Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, and Arda Batu, secretary-general and board member of TÜRKONFED, attended the signing, according to the Emirates News Agency.
Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone currently hosts more than 470 Turkish-owned companies operating in sectors including consultancy, general trading, e-commerce, building materials, chemicals and manufacturing, RAKEZ data shows. The new agreement with TÜRKONFED builds on that existing presence by expanding access to a broader network spanning Türkiye’s 81 provinces. Officials from both sides described the partnership as a step toward deeper bilateral engagement.
UAE non-oil trade with Türkiye exceeded $45.2 billion in 2025, growing 15.5 percent from the previous year and nearly tripling from 2022 levels, according to UAE government figures. The Ras Al Khaimah agreement supports closer business ties as that trade volume continues to expand. A Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Türkiye that entered into force in 2023 has driven much of the recent growth, UAE Foreign Trade Minister Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi has stated.
The Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation represents companies across a wide geographic and sectoral range, creating new opportunities for Ras Al Khaimah firms seeking Turkish partners. In an announcement on its newsroom, the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the deal would serve the business sector through sustained dialogue and joint initiatives. Similar partnerships have previously helped Turkish businesses establish operations in the emirate’s economic zones.
Bilateral trade data from the Observatory of Economic Complexity places UAE exports to Türkiye at $7.36 billion and imports from Türkiye at $8.21 billion in 2024, highlighting a balanced but growing relationship. Gold, jewellery and refined petroleum feature among the top traded goods. The latest chamber-level agreement extends that momentum into direct business-to-business cooperation.
Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone has participated in events such as the Turkish-Arab Economic Forum to promote its business environment to Turkish investors, RAKEZ statements show. Those efforts have contributed to the rising number of Turkish companies choosing the emirate as a base for regional expansion. The TÜRKONFED partnership provides a structured framework to build on such outreach.
