The Sharjah Summer Promotions 2026 has recorded high visitor turnout since its launch on July 1 across the emirate’s regions and cities, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority said in a joint statement. Organised by the two bodies, the retail campaign forms part of Sharjah’s summer season that runs until September 15 and features large-scale discounts along with exclusive promotions on products from top local and international brands. The initiative has support from strategic collaboration with government entities, private sector institutions and key partners, with more than 55 public and private sector partners involved overall. Hospitality offers began on May 25 with competitive accommodation rates, preceding the full retail phase now underway.
A Mordor Intelligence assessment found that the Middle East and Africa travel retail market is estimated to grow from USD 8.24 billion in 2026 to USD 15.59 billion by 2031 at a compound annual growth rate of 13.61 percent. The Sharjah Summer Promotions 2026 programme offers over 60 curated tourism packages and experiences tailored to diverse visitor segments, the joint statement reported. It delivers discounts of up to 75 percent on fashion, fragrances, accessories, consumer electronics, home furnishings and additional retail categories while extending special offers from restaurants, cafes and hotels.
Participating businesses benefit from streamlined issuance of preferential promotional permits valid for three consecutive months, according to the statement from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. H.E. Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, said the 2026 Sharjah Summer Promotions forms part of SCTDA’s efforts to deliver an integrated summer tourism season that showcases the emirate’s diverse leisure and tourism assets. Al Midfa explained that the programme leverages Sharjah’s unique blend of urban, coastal and desert attractions complemented by events, experiences and promotional offers designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of age groups and visitor segments.
Al Midfa noted that the SCTDA continues to elevate the visitor experience by integrating digital solutions and smart technologies, including the Sharjah Summer Promotions mobile application with augmented reality features and electronic prize draws. He added that extending the promotions through mid-September following the early launch of hospitality packages reflects the authority’s strategic vision of sustaining tourism and economic activity throughout the summer. The statement from the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority indicated the campaign is designed to strengthen Sharjah’s appeal as a tourism destination and support the sustainable growth of its tourism sector.
H.E. Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, director-general of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the SCCI prioritised sustainable growth of the retail sector this year by introducing practical business support initiatives aimed at strengthening commercial activity. Al-Awadi indicated that these measures directly stimulate retail sales across Sharjah’s markets and shopping centres while giving small and medium-sized enterprises greater opportunities to expand their customer base during the peak summer trading period. The SCCI director-general added that Sharjah Summer Promotions contributes to increased tourism spending, supports local market activity and enhances the competitiveness of Sharjah’s trade and retail sectors.
This year’s Sharjah Summer Promotions features 700 valuable prizes to be distributed through five major digital prize draws commencing on July 18, the joint statement said. The first raffle draw will take place at Mega Mall, followed by draws at Sahara Centre on August 1, Sharjah Central Mall on August 15, Rahmania Mall on August 29 and the grand final draw at 06 Mall on September 15. The prize pool includes 30 gold bars for 30 winners alongside premium shopping vouchers and retail gifts provided by participating shopping centres for 20 additional winners, with customers able to enter by shopping at participating outlets or registering via the dedicated mobile application.
The campaign includes the official mascot Shamsa, which brings excitement through interactive activities and family experiences at shopping centres and tourist attractions, the organisers reported. More than 7,000 exclusive Shamsa-branded gifts will be distributed to children as shopping rewards. The programme highlights attractions such as Al Noor Island, Pearls Kingdom Waterpark, Mleiha National Park, the eastern coast destinations of Khorfakkan, Dibba Al Hisn and Kalba, and the Fili Heritage Souq.
