The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced the approved fuel prices for August on July 31, maintaining a monthly review process that adjusts rates in line with global oil market movements. According to the committee, the new prices will apply from August 1 and cover the main grades of gasoline as well as diesel. The announcement follows the standard practice established since 2015 when the UAE liberalised domestic fuel pricing to reflect international benchmarks.
Super 98 gasoline was set at AED 2.70 per litre for August, down from the previous month’s rate, the committee’s statement showed. Special 95 gasoline was priced at AED 2.58 per litre while E-Plus 91 stood at AED 2.51 per litre. Diesel was fixed at AED 2.78 per litre, reflecting a marginal adjustment from July levels according to the committee’s data.
The monthly revision process incorporates average international fuel prices over the preceding four weeks plus operating costs for distribution companies, the committee has consistently stated in prior releases. UAE authorities first introduced this mechanism in 2015 as part of wider economic reforms aimed at reducing subsidy burdens. Central Bank of the UAE figures indicate that transport and fuel-related expenditures represent a notable share of household budgets, making these monthly updates material for both consumers and businesses.
Industry analysts monitor the announcements closely because fuel costs flow through to transportation, logistics and electricity generation expenses across the Emirates. According to a Deloitte Middle East energy report, fuel price stability in the UAE has helped cushion domestic inflation relative to more volatile markets in the region. The committee’s decision for August comes as global crude benchmarks have shown moderate fluctuations in recent trading sessions.
No changes were noted in the committee’s approach to pricing transparency, with all rates published on official channels and at fuel stations prior to implementation. The body, which includes representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure as well as ADNOC and other stakeholders, reiterated that prices exclude value-added tax. Motorists can expect the updated rates to appear on pump displays starting the first day of the month.
