The Emirates News Agency reported that the group of Chinese women entrepreneurs is meeting with UAE officials and business leaders this week to assess investment prospects in technology, logistics and sustainable development. The visit includes tours of key economic zones and discussions on potential collaborations that align with both nations’ economic diversification goals. Participants represent multiple sectors in China’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and seek to establish direct links with Emirati counterparts.
Bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and China reached $111.5 billion in 2025, marking a 24.5 percent increase from the prior year, Ministry of Foreign Trade figures show. Both sides have expressed ambitions to expand that volume toward $200 billion by 2030 through deeper cooperation in innovation, startups and supply chains. The Ministry of Economy and Tourism data places the number of Emirati women entrepreneurs at 48,257 as of February 2026, with these business owners or co-owners controlling 114,050 small and medium-sized enterprises.
China maintains one of the world’s largest startup ecosystems, with more than 116,000 ventures including a growing share led by women, according to industry assessments from late 2025. The UAE, for its part, hosts over 52,000 startups that have collectively raised nearly $97 billion in funding, Central Statistical Bureau and industry reports indicate. The current delegation visit builds on earlier forums that have produced memorandums of understanding in sectors ranging from fintech to green technology.
Foreign direct investment inflows into the UAE totaled $48.3 billion in 2025, securing the country ninth place among global destinations for such capital, the Ministry of Foreign Trade assessment found. Non-oil foreign trade for the UAE as a whole surpassed AED1.9 trillion in the first half of 2026, reflecting broader openness to international partnerships. The Chinese delegation’s program emphasizes practical engagement with regulatory frameworks that govern foreign business setup in the country.
The visit occurs against a backdrop of strengthened ties under initiatives that facilitate visa-free travel and joint projects in priority areas, WAM noted in its coverage. Earlier reciprocal programs have seen Emirati women entrepreneurs conduct similar exploratory trips to Chinese cities including Beijing and Shanghai. Additional sessions scheduled for the delegation will focus on market entry strategies and opportunities for cross-border ventures that leverage the strengths of both economies.
