The Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed ways to boost trade and economic ties with an Indian delegation during a meeting at its headquarters, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency. A business group from India led by B.G. Krishnan visited the chamber and was received by Youssef Mohamed Ismail, the first vice chairman, along with Dr. Ahmed Al Shemeili, the director general. Ismail stressed that both the chamber and the Saud bin Saqr Foundation for Youth Projects are eager to reinforce bilateral business relations and promote cooperation between private sector entities in Ras Al Khaimah and India. He pointed to the emirate’s natural resources and strategic position as factors that position it well for successful investments.
Ismail highlighted Ras Al Khaimah’s free zones and the incentives they offer to draw foreign capital and develop global investment infrastructure, the Emirates News Agency reported. Krishnan in turn affirmed the longstanding historical and commercial bonds linking the UAE and India, with particular emphasis on connections to Ras Al Khaimah. The talks explored potential collaboration in multiple sectors as both sides examined avenues for joint ventures and expanded market access.
The meeting occurs against a backdrop of robust growth in UAE-India trade, which a Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone official told The Economic Times currently stands at around $101 billion. That figure has risen from approximately $73 billion prior to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, the official noted during a September 2026 interview. Projections from the same assessment indicate bilateral trade could reach $200 billion by 2032, supported by investment flows and broader BRICS cooperation.
More than 6,000 Indian companies currently operate inside the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, Arabian Business reported in 2024, spanning manufacturing, engineering and other industries. These enterprises form part of a larger community of over 200,000 Indian firms active across the UAE, according to the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone official. The presence of roughly 4.5 million Indian residents in the country further strengthens the commercial and people-to-people foundations for such partnerships.
Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone completed a multi-city roadshow across India in late 2025 that engaged more than 200 companies and culminated in a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, The Gulf Time Newspaper reported. That agreement focuses on knowledge sharing, joint events and delegation exchanges to capitalise on the CEPA framework. Discussions during the roadshow centred on industrial collaboration, technology transfer and market entry strategies for Indian businesses seeking to expand through the emirate.
The RAK Chamber has also partnered with research organisations to produce economic studies that support its members in identifying growth sectors and international opportunities, a September 2026 announcement from the chamber showed. Such initiatives complement the consular-level engagements by supplying data-driven insights on logistics, industry and tourism. These combined efforts continue to align private sector interests between Ras Al Khaimah and India across established and emerging fields.
