The Emirates News Agency has reported that Jordanian industrial exports to the UAE rose 29 percent in the first half, increasing by around JD45 million. The rise comes as the two countries continue to strengthen their economic relations through various cooperative frameworks. Industrial goods form a substantial part of Jordan’s shipments to the Gulf state. The specific breakdown of product categories in this bilateral flow was not detailed in the agency’s article.
The Jordan Chamber of Industry released data showing that overall industrial exports increased 8.2 percent in the first five months of 2026 to JD3.668 billion. This represented a JD277 million rise from the JD3.392 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. The chamber said the increase reflects the sector’s continued resilience and growing competitiveness despite regional and global economic challenges. Market diversification and higher-value industrial products supported the performance.
Among Arab markets the Jordan Chamber of Industry figures show exports to the UAE rose 27.3 percent, to Syria 38.3 percent, to Palestine 19.9 percent and to Qatar 11.2 percent. Growth in non-Arab destinations was led by Switzerland with a 306.1 percent increase, followed by China at 62.7 percent, the Netherlands at 60.1 percent and Belgium at 42.3 percent. The chamber also reported expansion into emerging markets including Kenya, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Africa and Argentina.
Raw potash, fertilisers, iron and steel products, organic chemicals, copper, aluminium, cement and other manufactured goods led the export growth, according to the Jordan Chamber of Industry. The chamber attributed the performance to Jordan’s network of free trade agreements, improved product quality and the ability of local manufacturers to meet international market requirements. It called for continued efforts to enhance competitiveness, reduce production costs, expand trade promotion initiatives and open new markets.
The industrial sector has nearly doubled its exports over the past six years to reach a record JD8.9 billion in 2025, the Jordan Chamber of Industry chairman was quoted as saying in a July statement. The sector accounts for over 92 percent of Jordan’s total national exports. It currently exports around 2,500 products to 150 countries via more than 18,000 establishments that employ 271,000 workers.
