The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange hosted a bell-ringing event to open the trading session and signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Europe for Applied Sciences in Dubai, the exchange said in a statement. These activities formed part of the global World Investor Week campaign organized by the International Organization of Securities Commissions with support from the World Federation of Exchanges. The partnership will strengthen financial inclusion efforts and expand wealth-building opportunities for wider segments of society, according to the exchange.
According to the International Organization of Securities Commissions, the 10th edition of World Investor Week runs from October 5 to 11, 2026, under the tagline “Invest in Your Future. Protect It Today.” The campaign engages regulators, educators and partner organizations across more than 100 jurisdictions to deliver webinars, workshops and awareness programs on investor education and protection. IOSCO assessments show the initiative has grown substantially since its 2017 launch, with the 2025 edition involving 118 member jurisdictions and 19 additional organizations.
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, one of the fastest-growing financial markets in the Middle East with a market capitalization exceeding 765 billion dollars, remains committed to investor awareness as a multi-asset venue. Its listed companies achieved 15.7 percent revenue growth in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier, exchange figures show. The bell-ringing ceremony also supported the World Federation of Exchanges’ annual call for financial literacy, which aligns with the broader campaign objectives.
The Securities and Commodities Authority has underscored the UAE’s leadership in investor protection during the week, an SCA statement indicated. The authority organized outreach programs addressing investment risks, sustainability, digital assets, fraud prevention and investor rights in line with the global themes. SCA data places the number of supervisory actions implemented up to October 2025 at 285, including warnings, penalties and trading suspensions carried out with other authorities.
Global participation in World Investor Week has expanded significantly over the past decade, according to the International Organization of Securities Commissions. Previous editions have featured thousands of events that reached hundreds of millions of people through broadcast media, online platforms and in-person sessions. The 2026 program emphasizes helping investors manage digital misinformation and avoid increasingly sophisticated scams amid rapid technological advances.
The memorandum of understanding with the Dubai university will facilitate targeted educational initiatives for students and community members, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange said. Such collaborations reinforce the UAE’s capital markets ecosystem by promoting informed decision-making among new and existing investors. The exchange continues to position itself as a hub supporting Abu Dhabi’s sustainable economic growth through these stakeholder engagements.
