The Emirates News Agency reported that Middle East Energy will relocate from the Dubai World Trade Centre to the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai for its 2027 edition. Organisers at Informa Markets cited increasing demand for exhibition space and specialised sector focus as the reason for the venue change. The three-day event running from May 11 to 13 will continue to serve as the Middle East’s primary platform connecting utilities, contractors and suppliers across the power value chain.

Informa Markets projections place the 2027 turnout at more than 1,900 exhibitors and 35,000 attendees drawn from over 150 countries. The exhibition floor has been reorganised into four sectors covering generation, transmission and distribution, efficiency, and storage to mirror the complete power journey from production to end use. This structure retains every category featured in earlier editions while sharpening alignment with industry integration trends.

The 2026 edition, staged at the Dubai World Trade Centre to mark the event’s 50th anniversary, drew more than 39,000 energy professionals according to a Zawya report. Participants at that gathering represented $98 billion in active projects across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, double the value recorded in 2025. More than one-third of those attendees travelled from outside the region while GCC visitors accounted for 64 percent of the total.

Organisers placed onsite business generated during the 2025 edition at $4.08 billion with 1,841 exhibitors participating. Middle East Energy first launched in 1976 and has since expanded into the region’s largest dedicated power and electricity infrastructure gathering. The 2027 programme will again incorporate co-located shows including Intersolar Middle East, Energy Storage Middle East and The Battery Show Middle East.

Five conference tracks will examine leadership, technical challenges, renewable integration, battery technology and storage solutions, according to event materials released by Informa Markets. A dedicated stream on power requirements for artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centres will also feature. The gathering will convene decision-makers from utilities, engineering firms, regulators and development banks to advance concrete infrastructure initiatives.

Mark Ring, group director of Middle East Energy, said in a prior statement that the exhibition remains the largest gathering of the region’s power sector after 50 years. The shift to Expo City Dubai positions the event within an area increasingly used for major professional exhibitions. Further details on participation and the full floor plan are available through the official organiser channels.
