The Ajman Tourism Development Department organised the multi-city promotional roadshow to target emerging markets in Central Asia. Department representatives held meetings with travel agencies, airlines and media in several capitals to introduce Ajman’s heritage sites, coastal attractions and family-oriented experiences. Officials outlined available accommodation options and upcoming infrastructure projects during the sessions that concluded this week.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the roadshow incorporated workshops and business networking events aimed at developing tailored travel packages for visitors from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and neighbouring states. Participants from Ajman hotels and tourism service providers joined the delegation to discuss collaboration opportunities. The initiative forms part of a wider plan to reduce reliance on established source markets and tap into rising outbound travel trends across Central Asia.
World Travel and Tourism Council data shows the United Arab Emirates is forecast to host 29 million international tourists in 2025, an increase of 11.5 percent from the prior year. Figures from the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority placed Kazakhstan among the top international source markets for that emirate with more than 45,000 visitors in 2025. Similar patterns have prompted Ajman to focus promotional activity on the region where cultural affinities and improving connectivity could drive higher arrivals.
The department highlighted Ajman’s position as a tranquil alternative within the UAE during presentations to Central Asian partners. Discussions explored possibilities for direct air links and co-branded marketing campaigns that would simplify travel for families and cultural tourists. Central Asian companies expressed interest in the offerings, citing competitive pricing and proximity as key advantages over more crowded destinations.
Additional follow-up activities are scheduled to sustain the contacts established during the roadshow, including invitations for regional agents to visit Ajman on familiarisation tours. The authority has also expanded its digital outreach to audiences in the target countries through localised content and online campaigns. These steps align with national efforts to grow the UAE’s overall tourism receipts, which a World Travel and Tourism Council assessment projected to reach record levels in 2025.
