Senior officials from both governments joined industry executives for detailed discussions on aligning national strategies for the energy transition. Panels examined joint investment models in green hydrogen production and advanced grid technologies while side meetings focused on regulatory harmonisation to speed project delivery. Participants reviewed case studies of prior successful collaborations that have already delivered measurable reductions in carbon emissions across pilot sites.

According to a statement distributed by the Emirates News Agency the forum built directly on longstanding diplomatic ties that date back to the UAE’s early nuclear programme. French delegates presented updates on their national hydrogen roadmap while UAE representatives outlined progress under the National Energy Strategy 2050. The sessions also addressed supply-chain resilience measures that have become critical since global disruptions exposed vulnerabilities in 2020.

Bilateral trade data published by the Central Bank of the UAE show energy and infrastructure flows between the two countries exceeded USD 5 billion last year with French firms securing key contracts in solar and desalination projects. The UAE has similarly directed sovereign investments toward French renewable technology developers and research institutions. These financial linkages have created a foundation that the forum sought to expand through targeted matchmaking sessions.

A World Bank assessment of GCC energy markets places the UAE among the top three destinations for European clean-technology capital in the region with France consistently ranking as one of the largest contributors. The International Renewable Energy Agency has separately documented the UAE’s addition of more than 2 gigawatts of solar capacity in the past three years a pace that creates openings for French engineering expertise. Both organisations stress that sustained policy dialogue remains essential to scaling such deployments effectively.

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure organises UAE–France Energy Forum to deepen cooperation as one element of its annual programme of strategic international engagements. Follow-up technical working groups were formed during the closing session to convert discussion points into actionable investment pipelines over the next six months. Additional government-to-government memoranda are scheduled for signature before the end of the first quarter of next year.
