Schneider Electric released its 2026 Industrial AI in CPG Study focused on the UAE during the Innovation Summit Middle East and Africa in Abu Dhabi, where more than 2,500 energy professionals gathered alongside the UAE Minister of Economy and the French Ambassador. The assessment found that 59 percent of UAE manufacturers expect artificial intelligence to deliver transformational impact on their organisations by 2030, exceeding the global figure of 42.2 percent. Cybersecurity ranked as a top priority for 38 percent of UAE respondents as artificial intelligence deployment widens, while the summit explored the convergence of energy systems, artificial intelligence and software to support resilient infrastructure for AI-driven growth.

The two-day event, held under the theme of advancing energy technology to power intelligence and resilience, highlighted a broader transition from单纯 decarbonisation toward intelligent, connected systems capable of sustaining AI expansion. Schneider Electric concluded the summit with the UAE-specific study that positions local manufacturers ahead of international counterparts in embracing industrial artificial intelligence applications. Discussions underscored how energy management technologies can enable predictive operations and efficiency gains across sectors facing rising computational demands.

Separate research by Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Research Institute into AI-powered microgrids drew on two years of data from 11 sites in Europe, North America and Australia. That assessment recorded an 18 percent average reduction in electricity costs through algorithmic optimisation, equivalent to roughly 200,000 euros in annual savings across the portfolio, with ten sites achieving positive financial returns. One Australian facility additionally reported a 328-ton cut in carbon dioxide emissions when local renewable capacity and tariff structures aligned economic and environmental incentives.

Schneider Electric has modelled multiple pathways for artificial intelligence electricity consumption in Europe, projecting demand could range from 45 terawatt hours by 2030 under constrained conditions to 145 terawatt hours in scenarios of rapid, unregulated expansion. The company’s analysis emphasised that infrastructure investment timed ahead of demand, regulation that responds to adequacy signals, and accelerated decarbonisation of the grid together determine whether growth remains sustainable. Global data centre electricity use is separately projected to exceed 1,000 terawatt hours by 2026, more than double the 460 terawatt hours recorded in 2022, according to sector-wide assessments.

The UAE study forms part of Schneider Electric’s ongoing examination of artificial intelligence integration within industrial processes, particularly in consumer packaged goods manufacturing. Summit participants reviewed how digital twins, predictive analytics and real-time energy optimisation can reduce operational risks while supporting competitiveness. Schneider Electric has deployed similar solutions in regional projects, including data centre campuses that integrate power distribution, cooling and monitoring systems to maintain efficiency at scale.
