According to a statement from the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, the bourse posted a market capitalisation of AED2.8 trillion at the end of June 2026 while trading value for the first half reached AED171 billion. Total trading volume stood at 50.3 billion shares, a 3.7 percent rise from the year-earlier period, with average daily traded volume climbing 9 percent to 423 million shares. The number of individual trades increased 12 percent to nearly 3.3 million, the exchange reported, as market makers lifted their contribution to traded value by three percentage points to 15 percent.

Institutional investors accounted for 78 percent of total trading value during the period, the statement showed, while net positive inflows grew 13.7 percent year on year to AED1.4 billion. International investors represented 48 percent of trading activity, with UAE nationals making up the remaining 52 percent, up six percentage points from the same period in 2025. More than 30,000 new investors joined the market, a 7.1 percent increase, of whom 77 percent were foreign, ADX figures indicated.

The exchange distributed AED49.9 billion in dividends to shareholders in the first six months of 2026. Four new listings joined the market, including two dual-listed exchange-traded funds from the New York Stock Exchange, while successful rights issues were completed by Sharjah Islamic Bank and Annan Investment Holding. ADX data also placed trading values in its Growth Market at nearly AED60 billion in 2025, a sharp rise from AED1.5 billion in earlier years.

Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group CEO of ADX, said in the statement, “The ADX’s focus remains on building a deeper, more liquid, and more internationally connected market that supports Abu Dhabi’s role as an open, leading, and preferred global economy.” He added that the bourse continued to expand market access, strengthen infrastructure and introduce innovations to enable local and international investors to participate more efficiently. The results reflect an agile platform designed for resilience, sustainable growth and long-term value creation, Alnuaimi noted.

Infrastructure upgrades cited in the statement included a core platform enhancement, the establishment of AD Clear and AD CSD as new subsidiaries, and the addition of hybrid cloud capabilities. The exchange welcomed HSBC as its first foreign General Clearing Member and Morgan Stanley as the first international remote trading participant while signing a letter of intent with Borsa Italiana and expanding the Tabadul hub with integration to the Amman Stock Exchange. ADIB Securities became the first UAE bank to join the network, the statement said.

Initiatives to promote financial inclusion encompassed a “Digital Loans against Investments” programme with Wio Bank, an investment education partnership with Zoud, the Al Ramz Trading Competition and the ADX Managed Services offering with two initial participants. The exchange conducted roadshows in London and Hong Kong to highlight listed companies and market resilience. These steps align with efforts to position ADX as a gateway for global capital into the Abu Dhabi economy.
