According to an announcement on its website, the Qatar Chamber received Ambassador Bakhyt Batyrshayev and embassy counsellor Olzhas Sadykov at its headquarters on August 19, 2026. Discussions addressed current economic and trade relations along with methods to advance them while reviewing the investment climate and prospects open to Qatari and Kazakh businesses. The chamber’s statement placed particular weight on fostering closer private-sector engagement as a driver of future collaboration.

Al-Mansouri affirmed that relations between Qatar and Kazakhstan are strong and distinguished, noting the two countries have signed a number of agreements covering various fields. He emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation between the private sectors of both countries and promoting the exchange of business missions to unlock additional opportunities. The acting general manager further highlighted Qatar’s attractive investment environment as a platform for expanded partnerships across multiple sectors.

Al-Mansouri welcomed Kazakh business delegations to visit Qatar and meet with Qatari businesspeople to explore available cooperation and partnership opportunities in concrete terms. Such visits, he indicated, would allow both sides to identify specific projects suitable for joint implementation. The approach aligns with the chamber’s broader objective of converting diplomatic goodwill into measurable commercial outcomes.

Batyrshayev praised the strong relations between Kazakhstan and Qatar, noting that Qatar is one of Kazakhstan’s important partners in the region. The ambassador outlined the key features of the Kazakh economy and major investment opportunities, particularly in infrastructure, transport, services, tourism, mining and other sectors. He also highlighted major Qatari projects and investments in Kazakhstan in the construction, banking and energy sectors.

The envoy invited the Qatar Chamber and Qatari investors to visit Kazakhstan and explore these opportunities firsthand. Batyrshayev further stressed the importance of activating the Qatar-Kazakhstan Joint Business Council, organising business visits between the two countries, and encouraging mutual participation in trade fairs and economic events. National Bank of Kazakhstan figures show the country’s inward foreign direct investment stock totalled $166 billion as of January 1, 2025.

The latest meeting builds on earlier high-level contacts, including a Kazakhstan-Qatar investment roundtable attended by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in February 2024, according to the Kazakh presidential administration. In April 2026 the two sides held additional talks on expanding cooperation in energy, gas processing and transport logistics via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry reported. These successive engagements illustrate a sustained push to broaden bilateral economic ties beyond existing projects.
