KEZAD Group, one of the largest operators of integrated and specialised economic zones in the region, signed an agreement with JINGDONG Property to establish a modern logistics facility in the KEZAD A area. The project will feature warehouses and storage facilities spanning approximately 150,000 square metres and is scheduled for completion in 2028. JINGDONG Property acts as the infrastructure investment and asset management arm of JD.com, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency.
The development is projected to generate around 1,000 direct jobs in logistics, distribution and management once operations begin. It will also stimulate indirect employment across manufacturing, retail, transportation and ancillary services tied to supply chains and value addition. KEZAD Group highlighted the project’s role in advancing the UAE’s position as a logistics hub.
Feng Guo, CEO of JD.com Middle East, described the KEZAD facility as a significant milestone in JINGDONG Property’s expansion strategy across the UAE. He added that the site would provide an integrated system of multi-modal logistics solutions designed to address the rising needs of modern, high-speed supply chains. The executive’s remarks were included in the official announcement distributed by WAM.
JINGDONG Property has accelerated its Middle East presence through multiple partnerships in recent years. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia’s MODON in November 2025 to jointly develop two million square metres of industrial and logistics assets in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, according to a statement issued by JINGDONG Property at the time. Its first greenfield project under that agreement targets more than 40,000 square metres of Grade-A warehousing in Jeddah Industrial City.
In July 2025 JINGDONG Property formed a strategic alliance with Abu Dhabi Airports to develop a 70,000-square-metre smart logistics hub in the Abu Dhabi Airports Freezone, a Baker McKenzie advisory note on the transaction confirmed. The company oversees more than 50 infrastructure projects across nine countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia and the UAE. This latest initiative with KEZAD builds on that international portfolio.
The partnership leverages KEZAD’s strategic location and infrastructure alongside JINGDONG Property’s expertise in automation and digital warehouse management. Such collaborations support the UAE’s broader objectives to enhance cross-border e-commerce and strengthen regional trade connectivity. Industry participants anticipate the facility will reduce logistics costs and delivery times for merchants operating in the GCC and MENA markets.
