Al Ansari Exchange, a subsidiary of Al Ansari Financial Services PJSC listed on the Dubai Financial Market, is testing voice AI capabilities in its mobile app while exploring broader applications of the technology. The initiative falls under a Dubai government programme that commits 11 Dubai-based companies to incorporating agentic AI into operations with assistance from Dubai Chambers, according to a statement distributed by the Emirates News Agency. Al Ansari Financial Services is also assessing how artificial intelligence can accelerate internal processes such as compliance functions in line with international best practices and regulatory requirements.

Rashed A. Al Ansari, group chief executive officer of Al Ansari Financial Services, said in the statement, “Our work with voice AI is a stepping stone towards more advanced applications, including agentic AI.” The group collaborates with federal and local government entities including the Central Bank of the UAE and Dubai’s Department of Finance to advance the transition toward a cashless economy, company officials noted. These efforts align with national priorities while maintaining full regulatory compliance across all operations.

Ali Al Najjar, chief executive officer of Al Ansari Exchange, stated, “We have implemented voice AI in our app to help customers navigate services and complete routine tasks more easily.” He added that the operational focus centres on accuracy, clear guidance and ready access to the customer service team whenever personal assistance is needed. The voice feature expands on the company’s digital foundation as customer adoption of online channels continues to rise.

Company figures show digital channels accounted for 27 percent of the total value of remittances at Al Ansari Exchange in 2025, rising from 23 percent in 2024. This increase in digital activity broadens the potential for AI tools including the voice assistant now under test in the application, Al Ansari Financial Services reported. Central Bank of the UAE data has tracked consistent expansion in digital remittance volumes across the sector over recent years.

Established in 1966, Al Ansari Exchange is the UAE’s largest outward personal remittance and foreign exchange company and operates more than 280 branches while serving over four million customers, according to a Gulf News overview of the firm’s six-decade history. The business processes more than 50 million transactions annually across its network and digital platforms. A report from the company placed 25 percent of total volumes through online channels before the latest gains in digital share.

Al Ansari Financial Services reported that digital transactions represented 29 percent of total volume in the first quarter of 2026, reflecting a 69 percent year-on-year rise in digital volumes. World Bank data from earlier years positioned the UAE as the second-largest global source of personal outward remittances after the United States, with Dh134 billion recorded in 2023. The AI pilot forms part of wider technology adoption across the UAE remittance sector to enhance efficiency and compliance standards, according to a meeting summary from the Foreign Exchange and Remittance Group.
