The authority reported that the number of companies registered in its free zones increased 216 percent in 2025 compared with the prior year. Revenues climbed 17 percent year on year as the number of investors grew, according to the authority’s figures released this month. Occupancy rates across investment sites stood at 95 percent, the body said.

The Free Zones Authority of Ajman attributed the performance to rising investor demand for its business offerings combined with the rollout of advanced technology solutions that simplified procedures. These measures have positioned the zones as an attractive option for businesses targeting the UAE market. Ismail Al Naqi, in a LinkedIn post reflecting on the year, said, “This year’s results speak for themselves: 216% growth in registered companies 17% increase in revenues 95% occupancy rate across our facilities.”

Such outcomes align with broader objectives outlined in Ajman Vision 2030. According to the UAE government portal, the plan seeks to foster a competitive business environment that drives economic development while enhancing investment promotion, trade infrastructure and support for entrepreneurship, start-ups and SMEs. The vision additionally calls for greater private sector participation in public projects and services.

An Oxford Business Group report on Ajman placed the emirate’s GDP at Dh36 billion in 2023, led by manufacturing at 18.8 percent, trade at 18 percent and construction at 16.4 percent. The assessment found that the free zone plays a vital role in attracting foreign investment and nurturing small and medium-sized enterprises. Ajman Vision 2030 promotes green development, smart infrastructure and innovation-driven policies that complement wider UAE goals.

The Free Zones Authority of Ajman was established in 2021 to manage and expand the emirate’s free zone assets, its official website states. A separate Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone announced in late 2025 that it had registered more than 6,500 businesses during its first year of operations, according to statements from that entity. The authority’s 2025 results form part of continued efforts to strengthen Ajman’s position as a regional investment hub.

The Oxford Business Group assessment noted that the emirate’s forward-looking policies, including digital transformation initiatives, have helped boost competitiveness and draw international companies. These policies operate within a framework of close coordination between local and federal institutions to streamline regulations and incentives. The authority’s performance data for last year reflects sustained momentum in company formations across its facilities.
