The Qatar Tennis Federation announced a partnership agreement with Doha Bank Group that designates the financial institution as title sponsor of the Qatar Ladies Open tennis tournament for women. The deal forms part of the federation’s efforts to broaden collaborations with leading national entities and bolster the tournament’s position within the international tennis schedule. Federation officials described the arrangement as a significant step that underscores confidence in the event’s longstanding reputation.

According to the federation, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, its president, stressed the importance of the new partnership with Doha Bank. Al-Khelaifi indicated that the collaboration represents a valuable addition to the tournament and reflects trust in its status as one of the prestigious competitions on the Women’s Tennis Association agenda. The federation noted that such ties help advance development of the event hosted in Qatar.

Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal Al Thani, group chief executive of Doha Bank, said in the announcement that the bank takes pride in strengthening its cooperation with the Qatar Tennis Federation by assuming title sponsorship of the Qatar Ladies Open. The bank’s statement added that it is honored for the prestigious tournament to bear the Doha Bank name. Sheikh Abdulrahman highlighted that the move mirrors the bank’s aim to forge qualitative, sustainable partnerships while backing Qatar’s expanding role in global sports.

Doha Bank has maintained an active role in supporting Qatari sports initiatives in recent years. The bank previously signed a multi-year sponsorship for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open men’s tennis tournament covering 2025 through 2027, according to its own corporate announcements. It has also extended its naming-rights partnership with the Qatar Stars League until 2030 and maintains ties with the Qatar Olympic Committee focused on overall sports development.

The sponsorship aligns with broader national objectives to position Qatar as a hub for major international sporting events. Officials from both the federation and the bank have framed the agreement as contributing to these goals without altering the tournament’s core competitive structure. The Qatar Ladies Open continues to draw elite players as part of the WTA tour schedule in the region.
