The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) signed a funding agreement with the Orphan Care Center (Dreama) this week that will back three dedicated programs addressing the needs of orphans and foster families, according to details released by the two organisations. The pact covers the Building and Empowerment Program offering psychological, social and skills development support, the Children’s Living Expenses Program that meets essential costs and care services, and the Orphan Stories Program focused on instilling moral values through media content and community awareness campaigns. The signing ceremony brought together Yousef Mohammed Al Nuaimi, director of shared services at DAAM, and Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al-Thani, executive director of Dreama, along with other officials from both sides.
Dreama said in a statement that the agreement represents a significant step in enhancing the sustainability of initiatives that address the psychological, social, educational and living needs of the centre’s children. The statement added that it also supports the development of their skills and abilities, empowering them towards greater self-reliance. Dreama expressed appreciation for the partnership, describing it as an important contribution to the centre’s ongoing efforts to develop and expand programmes and services for its children and the families that foster them.
Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al-Thani noted the value of such cross-sector partnerships in achieving lasting impact that improves the quality of life and future prospects of the children served. Dreama, established in 2002 under the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, provides comprehensive care for orphans in Qatar including social, psychological, educational and healthcare support while promoting awareness of fostering, according to the centre’s overview. The organisation works to ensure stability within foster families and facilitates integration into society by equipping children with tools for independent and productive lives. This agreement builds upon an earlier financing pact signed in December 2023 between DAAM, the Ministry of Social Development and Family and Dreama to sustain similar orphan care efforts.
DAAM, founded in 2010 under Amiri Decree No. 44, channels contributions from companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange into social, sports and cultural initiatives that advance sustainable community development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, its official website states. The fund has concluded multiple similar agreements in 2026 alone, including partnerships with the Qatar Career Development Center to support youth labour market readiness and with the Qatar Debate Center to advance cultural and educational programs.
