Dubai South announced a flexible support package for its SME tenants at the Business Park to provide financial relief and encourage continuity. The measures encompass rent-free incentives for those renewing contracts, greater flexibility in payment deferrals, waivers for minor administrative penalties and the holding of existing rental rates for eligible businesses. The development said the initiative would be monitored and adapted as necessary to respond to market shifts while maintaining a supportive environment for smaller enterprises.
Nabil Al Kindi, Group CEO of Dubai South, emphasised the importance of the SME sector. “SMEs are at the heart of Dubai’s economic fabric, and supporting their continuity and growth remains a priority,” Al Kindi said. “This initiative reflects our commitment to enabling our business community by providing practical and timely support, while reinforcing a stable environment for long-term success,” he added.
“At Dubai South, we remain focused on delivering value-driven solutions that align with the vision of our wise leadership to sustain economic momentum and further strengthen Dubai’s competitive business landscape,” Al Kindi continued. Dubai South Business Park offers a specialised ecosystem that includes flexible office solutions, integrated services and a strategic location next to Al Maktoum International Airport, according to the development. As the largest urban master development dedicated to aviation, logistics and real estate, it continues to expand its appeal to diverse companies.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, small and medium-sized enterprises represent 94 percent of all businesses in the UAE and contributed 63.5 percent to non-oil GDP in 2020. The sector is viewed as critical for economic diversification and job creation, with additional figures showing it accounts for a substantial share of employment. This significance explains the alignment of Dubai South’s package with national priorities for business empowerment.
The UAE secured the top global ranking in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2025-2026 report for the fifth year running, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism reported. The assessment highlighted superior performance in areas such as government support, infrastructure and regulatory ease. These results come alongside multiple incentives introduced across the emirates to foster innovation and resilience among smaller firms.
In parallel, Dubai authorities launched an AED 1 billion economic support initiative in April 2026 focused on bolstering key sectors and protecting jobs, government statements show. The federal government also approved a balanced budget for 2025 with higher spending to support ongoing diversification, according to official filings. Such coordinated actions underscore a sustained push toward a more robust non-oil economy less vulnerable to external shocks.
