The Emirates News Agency reported that the seventh National Fuel Station Safety Campaign kicked off across the UAE under the slogan “Safety is a Commitment, Not a Choice.” The Joint Security and Safety Committee is directing the effort in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure along with major operators including ADNOC. This edition expands on prior campaigns by incorporating updated materials and broader public outreach to minimise hazards at refuelling sites.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure previous editions reached more than one million people via social media platforms with the 2025 sixth campaign concluding after running from July 17 until late August. The current drive will feature on-site educational sessions, compliance checks at stations and distribution of safety literature throughout all seven emirates. Such coordinated activities have formed a core element of national safety strategy in the fuel retail sector for several years.

The Joint Security and Safety Committee outlined five primary rules for the campaign that include reducing speed to 20 kilometres per hour upon station entry, shutting off engines during refuelling and prohibiting smoking, open flames or mobile phone use near pumps. Station users must also refrain from leaving children unattended in vehicles at any time during the process. These directives draw from established operational standards applied uniformly by fuel providers nationwide.

Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure data from earlier campaigns indicated measurable gains in public adherence and a corresponding drop in reported incidents at fuel facilities following similar initiatives. The seventh edition will run through the peak summer period with regular progress assessments shared by participating authorities. Fuel retailers have been instructed to integrate campaign resources into daily operations at their locations.

ADNOC and other industry partners have committed personnel and facilities to support the awareness component, the Joint Security and Safety Committee stated. Training modules for station staff will cover emergency response procedures alongside customer guidance protocols. The multi-agency framework has enabled consistent messaging that builds on accumulated experience from the six preceding national campaigns.

Separate updates on campaign milestones will be issued through official government channels as activities unfold in each emirate. The initiative aligns with wider regulatory oversight of the fuel distribution network that serves both private motorists and commercial fleets across the country.
