The Qatar Chamber reported that the delegation, which included representatives from nearly 20 companies, held three key high-level meetings with Monaco’s Prince Albert II, Minister of State Christophe Mirmand and Foreign Affairs Minister Isabelle Berro-Amadeï. Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, chairman of the Qatar Chamber, co-led the group alongside Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani of the Qatari Businessmen Association and Ambassador Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani. The chamber described the visit as the first large-scale Qatari business mission to the principality, reflecting private sector interest in new markets and international partnerships.
Initiated by the Qatari ambassador to France and Monaco in coordination with the Qatari-French Economic Association, the trip also featured discussions with Invest Monaco and local firms in sectors ranging from finance and yachting to real estate, construction, tourism and hospitality. A separate account from Monaco’s government indicated the economic gathering took place at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort, where participants presented opportunities in their respective markets. The meetings sought to exchange expertise and identify potential joint ventures, building on existing ties between the two sides.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani stated that the visit represented a significant milestone and opened new horizons for commercial and investment partnerships, particularly in finance, banking, real estate, tourism, hospitality, maritime services and yachting. He emphasised that mutual visits and direct engagements build trust and foster sustainable economic relationships. The Qatar Chamber noted the delegation’s composition covered energy, technology, insurance, industry, agriculture and services in addition to the areas highlighted during the Monaco sessions.
Supporting coverage from NEWS.MC placed the number of Qatari business leaders at 27 and confirmed the focus on luxury hotels, innovation and construction as areas of mutual interest. The initiative aligns with Monaco’s broader push to develop international business relationships, as outlined in the principality’s communications. Qatar has previously engaged with Monaco through events such as the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show, where Qatari entities promoted maritime destinations and sustainability in the sector.
Earlier in the programme, the group met with Monaco’s Minister of Finance and Economy Frédéric Cottalorda, Delegate for Attractiveness Ludmila Raconnat, Director of Economic Development Stéphane Brunner and officials from the Monaco Chamber of Commerce. These discussions concentrated on exploring strategic trade partnerships and investment prospects across growth sectors. The Qatar Chamber indicated that such engagements help diversify economic cooperation beyond traditional areas and support long-term bilateral ties.
