AlRayan Bank and Qatar Datamation Systems completed a bank-wide enterprise data warehouse program that consolidates information from core banking and operational systems into one governed layer. The infrastructure creates a single coherent source of truth for the Qatari Islamic lender and enables faster decision-making while strengthening overall data governance. In a joint statement the two organisations said the platform supports the bank’s ongoing shift toward modern customer-centric operations by reducing manual reporting cycles and embedding data-driven approaches throughout daily activities. The announcement positions AlRayan Bank as the first institution in Qatar to make governed self-service analytics available across all business units.

Fahad Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, chief executive officer of AlRayan Bank, described data as one of the bank’s most valuable assets in the statement and noted that the new platform represents more than a technology investment. Al Khalifa said the warehouse establishes foundational capabilities that will allow the bank to scale analytics and drive further innovation. Mohammad Alam, general manager of QDS, stated that banks leading the next phase will treat data as core infrastructure and that QDS’s role is to help institutions build these foundations. The executives framed the project as a strategic enabler for enhanced customer experiences and operational agility.

The initiative aligns with AlRayan Bank’s LEAD transformation strategy that International Banker reported has already delivered a next-generation digital banking platform along with the country’s first banking sector innovation laboratory called Next. The lender partnered with Finastra in 2025 to modernise its corporate channels and improve trade finance and cash management services according to a Finastra release from August that year. Such steps have progressively moved AlRayan Bank toward greater digital integration while maintaining its focus on Shariah-compliant Islamic banking practices across Qatar and selected international markets.

A Market Research Future assessment projected the global data analytics in banking market to expand from 13.88 billion USD in 2025 to 87.4 billion USD by 2035 at a compound annual growth rate of 20.2 percent. Within Qatar the fintech sector stood at 526.6 million USD in 2025 and is forecast to reach 2.07 billion USD by 2034 with a compound annual growth rate of 15.96 percent according to IMARC Group figures. The completed data warehouse positions AlRayan Bank to capitalise on these sector-wide trends by providing a robust governed foundation for advanced analytics and related technologies.

Qatar Development Bank data places the country’s artificial intelligence market at QAR 2 billion in 2024 with projections for growth to QAR 7 billion by 2030 at a 29 percent compound annual growth rate. The enterprise data warehouse supplies the necessary infrastructure to integrate such tools into banking processes while maintaining strict governance standards. AlRayan Bank which ranks among Qatar’s largest Islamic banks will use the platform to support improved customer insights operational efficiency and product innovation across its retail corporate and treasury divisions.

QDS has supported multiple regional institutions in developing similar data infrastructure according to the joint statement and the partnership with AlRayan Bank reflects a broader push toward data-centric banking models in the GCC. The program reduces data silos that previously complicated reporting and analysis while ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements on data management. Officials from both organisations indicated that the governed self-service model will accelerate insight generation for business users without requiring constant involvement from technical teams.
