An announcement distributed by The View Hospital stated that the facility has reaffirmed its partnership with Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance while extending direct billing to encompass all medical services and clinics. The pact allows the insurer’s entire client base to access cashless treatment at the Cedars-Sinai affiliated hospital without the need for separate approvals on individual procedures. This development strengthens an existing relationship that began with the hospital’s opening and reflects ongoing efforts to integrate insurance coverage with private healthcare delivery in Qatar.
The View Hospital opened on December 18 2022 the same day Qatar marked its National Day and hosted the FIFA World Cup final according to coverage in The Peninsula. It operates through an affiliation between Cedars-Sinai and Elegancia Healthcare which is a subsidiary of Estithmar Holding. The hospital’s stated aim is to position itself as a regional and international leader in patient-centered care that draws on advanced medical technologies.
Ramez Al-Khayyat vice-chairman of Estithmar Holding and chairman of The View Hospital expressed satisfaction with the insurance partnership in the announcement. He looked forward to expanded collaboration that would deliver an exceptional medical care experience grounded in world-class expertise. Al-Khayyat’s statement highlighted the value of combining insurance accessibility with high standards of treatment.
In the same announcement Ahmed Rafee Al-Emadi chief executive officer at Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance pointed to the benefits for policyholders. “This exceptional partnership will grant Al Koot insured members seeking top notch care within their reach through our direct billing arrangement” he said. Al-Emadi noted that the arrangement makes Al Koot the first and only insurer in Qatar to enjoy this level of integration with the hospital.
A report from Oxford Business Group placed Qatar’s health insurance market at $3.9 billion in 2024 with projections for expansion to $5.5 billion by 2033 at a compound annual growth rate of 3.6 percent. The growth is propelled by mandatory health coverage for approximately 2.9 million expatriates which is expected to inject an additional QR1.7 billion to QR2.2 billion in gross written premiums. Such figures underscore the expanding role of private insurers like Al Koot within the national healthcare framework.
Al Koot’s own membership materials describe direct billing as a cashless service in which the provider settles eligible claims directly with the insurer. This removes the burden of out-of-pocket expenses for patients at contracted facilities including The View Hospital. The reaffirmed partnership therefore broadens the practical utility of Al Koot policies across a wider spectrum of specialised care.
The hospital maintains that the tie-up will evolve to deliver mutual benefits for both organisations and their respective stakeholders. Its insurance page lists Al Koot among approved providers while the announcement confirms full-service access without restriction. This alignment supports broader trends in which Qatar’s insurance sector adapts to rising demand for seamless medical financing.
