The meeting convened at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters and was led by H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, according to an announcement from the organisation. Participants from the Board of Directors of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce joined discussions focused on advancing mutual economic interests and building closer links between the respective business communities. The two sides examined opportunities to increase bilateral trade volumes and investment flows while leveraging Dubai’s role as an international business hub.
Dubai Chambers figures show that non-oil trade between Dubai and Colombia reached AED 4 billion in 2025, recording annual growth of 97.4 percent. This performance follows earlier expansion, with the value standing at AED 1.9 billion in 2023 when it grew by more than 51 percent year-on-year, a Dubai Chambers assessment found. The consistent increases highlight the potential for further collaboration across key sectors.
A total of 173 Colombian companies had registered as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce by the end of 2025, according to the organisation’s data. That total reflects growth from 131 such companies recorded in September 2024, shortly before the launch of a dedicated representative office in Bogotá. The office forms part of efforts to support partnerships and enable Colombian firms to access opportunities through Dubai.
Representatives from Dubai Chambers also attended a meeting on October 12, 2026, between the UAE Ambassador to Colombia and Colombia’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported. That discussion similarly addressed ways to facilitate trade, identify investment prospects and strengthen private-sector connections between the two countries. Both gatherings align with broader initiatives to promote commercial exchanges in areas including logistics, tourism and supply chains.
Lootah outlined the chamber’s approach in a statement following the October 24 meeting. “We are continuing to strengthen trade relations between Dubai and Colombia in ways that advance our shared interests, increase bilateral trade and investment flows, and deepen cooperation between our business communities,” he said. “We remain committed to building effective partnerships that create new opportunities for Colombian companies and enable them to benefit from Dubai’s integrated business environment and strategic position as a global hub for trade, investment, and expansion into regional and international markets.”
The representative office in Bogotá, which opened in December 2024, brings Dubai Chambers’ global network to 33 locations, the organisation said at the time. This infrastructure supports Dubai-based companies seeking to enter Latin American markets while assisting international firms with their expansion into the emirate and beyond. Colombian interest in Dubai has grown steadily, with the chamber’s data indicating rising engagement from businesses in the South American country.
