The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council collaborated with Union Assessment and Certification along with the ADI Foundation to roll out the UAE’s first Blockchain-Verified Digital Skill Card System during Abu Dhabi Finance Week. This marks the initial large-scale use of verifiable on-chain workforce credentials anywhere in the GCC, the ADI Foundation reported in a statement. Workers gain ownership of their authenticated skill cards under the program while verification of competencies occurs immediately and every update receives a permanent ledger entry.

According to the partnering organizations the system relies on ADI Chain infrastructure to deliver sovereign-grade security that complies with national regulations. The cards function through QR codes connected to immutable blockchain records that prevent tampering and support a trusted skills ecosystem across labor and regulatory environments. Union Assessment and Certification described the launch as a milestone that places authenticated certifications directly with individuals for seamless sharing.

A separate ADGM Academy initiative in partnership with the ADI Foundation called FutureTech 4.0 will train 10,000 Emirati students in blockchain AI and Web 4.0 skills across the next three years an Economy Middle East report stated. That program operates from the ADGM Academy Tech Centre and focuses on research innovation and community development to bolster Abu Dhabi’s standing in digital finance. Participants will emerge prepared to contribute to the UAE’s sovereign digital economy through advanced technical expertise.

The Jahiz platform has delivered more than 1.2 million learning hours to over 75,000 government employees while issuing in excess of 800,000 digital badges a Totara case study found. Those figures demonstrate ongoing UAE investment in future skills such as cybersecurity blockchain cloud computing and data storytelling across federal and local entities. The new Digital Skills Card system extends this work by furnishing a portable tamper-proof record of competencies earned through such training.

WAM reported that the blockchain-verified cards address long-standing challenges in credential authenticity and speed of verification within the regional labor market. The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council positioned the tool as a national benchmark for secure portable workforce documentation that aligns with broader digital transformation objectives. Every credential action logged on the chain adds a layer of transparency that benefits employees employers and oversight bodies alike.

An ADI Foundation assessment noted that the deployment equips authorities to implement trust-critical blockchain applications at full national scale while remaining compliant with existing rules. The initiative coincides with related programs that have produced over 1.4 million certificates through partnerships with more than two dozen providers including Microsoft and PwC the Totara study indicated. Such coordinated efforts continue to expand the pool of digitally fluent talent available to support Abu Dhabi’s innovation-driven economy.
