Lesha Bank revealed details of the transaction in an announcement distributed by the Qatar News Agency. The portfolio will be managed by Lesha Aviation Capital, the bank’s aircraft leasing entity based in Dublin, Ireland. This latest addition builds on the platform’s closed portfolio that stood at assets under management of approximately $2.7 billion with 28 aircraft, according to the bank’s website. The bank has pursued a series of aviation deals to scale its presence in the sector.
The aircraft are leased to nine airlines in eight countries, providing broad diversification by operator and geography, Lesha Bank said in the statement. Mohammed Ismail Al Emadi, group chief executive officer of Lesha Bank, said, “We are delighted to have completed this acquisition, which further strengthens our position as a growing investor in the global aviation leasing sector. This transaction adds a high-quality and diversified portfolio of assets, increases our exposure to new technology aircraft and broadens our relationships across a range of airline operators and markets. The portfolio’s long-term contracted cash flows and attractive diversification characteristics are highly complementary to our existing investments.” The announcement described the portfolio as complementary to prior holdings.
The acquisition advances Lesha Bank’s plan to assemble a scaled and diversified set of aviation assets with increased allocation to modern, fuel-efficient aircraft flown by an array of established airline customers, the statement indicated. A Straits Research report valued the global aircraft leasing market at USD 189.1 billion in 2025 and projected growth to USD 210.28 billion in 2026. KPMG’s Aviation Leaders Report for 2026 noted that major lessors continue to chase scale amid robust trading conditions in the sector.
Lesha Bank completed its purchase of 100 percent of Amedeo Air Four Plus Limited in June at an equity value of approximately GBP 190 million, or QAR 916.5 million, according to an earlier bank statement. That deal involved a Guernsey-incorporated aircraft leasing company previously listed on the London Stock Exchange and added to the aviation platform’s widebody exposure. Lesha Aviation Capital launched its Dublin office in 2025 to strengthen operations and investment management capabilities for such portfolios.
The bank’s total assets under management across activities rose to QAR 15 billion in the first quarter of 2026, reflecting a 41 percent increase year on year, its financial statements show. The transaction enhances diversification across aircraft types, lessees and geographic markets. Lesha Bank has conducted multiple aviation acquisitions since 2024, including Boeing 777, Airbus A350 and A320neo aircraft, as part of its focus on resilient asset classes.
