S&P Global Ratings affirmed the long-term issuer credit and insurer financial strength ratings of Alkhaleej Takaful Insurance Company at ‘A-‘ with a stable outlook, according to a statement the company posted on the Qatar Stock Exchange website. The statement indicated that the reaffirmation reflects the agency’s decision to maintain both ratings at that level with the stable outlook intact. Alkhaleej Takaful Insurance Company separately reported a net profit of QR18.353 million for the first quarter of 2026, a 2.66 percent increase from QR17.876 million in the year-earlier period.

This latest action follows an upgrade by S&P Global Ratings in June 2025 that lifted the ratings from ‘BBB+’ to ‘A-‘, with a stable outlook assigned at that time. The Qatari insurer, listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange under ticker AKHI, provides a range of takaful insurance products including motor, property and health coverage. Its first-quarter performance added to the overall positive financial indicators for the period.

In a comparable action, S&P Global Ratings affirmed Qatar Insurance Co.’s ‘A-‘ ratings with a stable outlook in March 2026, according to the agency’s report. That assessment projected modest top-line growth of about 3 percent per year in 2025 and 2026 for QIC as it consolidates its business. The parallel rating actions highlight stability that S&P perceives in Qatar’s leading insurance providers.

Alkhaleej Takaful’s full-year net income for 2025 reached QR71.1 million, according to market data compiled by Simply Wall St. The company has maintained a profit margin that reached 54 percent in that period. Such metrics form part of the information considered in credit assessments for the sector.

The insurer’s investor relations materials emphasize commitment to transparent reporting, a practice that aligns with standards across Qatar’s financial sector. Ratings from S&P form a key part of how the market evaluates financial institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council region. Alkhaleej Takaful continues to operate in an environment where insurance sector assets have expanded, per figures from local regulatory bodies.
